I know that within your first two years of driving you get banned after only six points on your license, but this then increases to twelve points. But does this happen two years from the day you get your provisional/start learning, or two years from when you pass your test?
    Cheers.

Btw, it's not an issue for me as I have no points on my licenses, I'm just curious.

passing the test seems like the most only logical point.

From when you pass your test, as everyone else has said.

for the first two years after passing your test getting 6 points means reverting to learner status ... i.e. have to re sit all phases of the driving test ... you aren't actually *banned* just revert to provisional ...
