A confusing offer is better than no offer.

Well I took a resit to make it an A. Does this mean they want a B in the resit?

Sounds like it, but you would be well advised to email them and check, before committing yourself.

    Is this uncommon?

Warwick's standard offer for this course is AAB and I have AAB. So I don't see why they would want a B in the resit =\

Congratulations on the offer - sounds like they will be able to make you an unconditional offer when you tell them about the history grade

Universities do sometimes things a bit wrong. One of my friends got an offer of AAB when he applied after taking his A-levels had already got AAA. A phonecall sorted it out.

I would hazard a guess that (if it isn't a mistake) it is because they want to make sure you are studying this year and not lazing around, getting out of the habit of learning and forgetting what you had previously learned.

Basically, they want a B overall at A2.

    Haha, I didn't study last year! I don't know what they're expecting!
    I'll just ring them.

Even more reason for them to want you to be studying then.

Can I speculate that because you are resitting, you put down your grades as pending? That would mean that the university would not know that you had a B, so all they can say is that you need to get at least a B when you resit it?

My UCAS clearly states that I have AAB but I have a history grade pending this year. I phoned up, they need confirmation of my final History grade, even though I can't get anything less than a B.

    So it's a psuedo-unconditional.
