    Hi,
Has anyone had theirs yet? On my info pack it only talks about a group interview and gives us the reading task. Are there individual interviews? Or tests? If you can give me any info that'd be great! I'm hoping to specialise in Early Childhood Studies.

Yes! I Can tell you about mine although my specialism was PE not Early Childhood so I don't know any specifics on that. On the day, after arrival and checking documents all the BEd candidates were taken to a lecture theatre and given a presentation on the course and the university (same as the one at the open day if you went). After that we were given a paper to complete in 30 mins. The first part was numeracy and very simple, just putting fractions and numbers in order, and basic calculations. They say it is Year 6 level work so don't worry about it.
The next half was a literacy task which was an article to read, and then you had 2 options for answering it. 1st option was to write a letter in support for or against the article subject. 2nd option was a creative writing task, basically using that subject and writing the beginning of a short story for young adults. I went with the 2nd option and found I actually enjoyed that, but a lot of people went for the letter option so do whatever you're more comfortable with. Just make sure your spelling, grammar and punctuation is as good as it can be and be imaginative.
After this the PE group were taken off for the physical and group part of the interview so I can't be sure what the other specialisms did. However as part of our group task we were divided into groups of 3 to discuss the reading task while being observed, then after that we were asked questions like "what has inspired you to want to become a teacher?" and "why Plymouth University?" and other questions relating to your knowledge and interest of your specialist subject. This was all done in our groups of 3, taking it in turns to answer, so I don't think you will be interviewed individually unless they have specified that for your specialism already. It seems Plymouth are mainly interested in your interaction with the other candidates as it shows a lot about your strengths and weaknesses I think, so just try to get your enthusaism across, don't be afraid to give your opinion and allow other people to have their say and show an interest in their ideas. And that was all! After the discussions we were free to go!
Our group finished later than the others because of the PE orientated physical tasks we also had to do, so you should be finished in about 2-3 hours I would guess. I hope it goes well for you and enjoy it I found the day pretty fun despite the nerves and the people are so friendly and not at all intimidating.
    Good Luck!

Thank you so much, you're an angel! It didn't take you long to hear back either did it? Did you find out through the post or via Track? Do you plan on coming to Plymouth or is it not your first choice? So many questions, sorry!
