Morning all, i have a girlfriend who i have been going out for 2 years, a fantastic relationship, friends involved, groups involved but we like spending time with each other every day! we never had time appart and we are happy that way! she goes out shopping and i have my times as well. Mostly, we are together and we simply love it! infact, she said she want to spend her life with me after so many of those crappy relationships and i agreed on my side.

Every day we have a fight and she gets sad. The sad thing is that the fights are about "who pays the bill". And the end result is that she gets sad and gives me that girly punch.

Every year we fight. Birthdays come and go and i mean for 2 birthdays we both said we didnt want anything and we both agreed not to get each other anything and the end result was, both holding a gift bag full of items (which i love and she loved!!!)

i hate this! i love giving presents and not recieving them! i love making her happy and now valentines day is coming. I planned something special, EuroStar is offering an valentines day special in a cruise on dinner! pretty expensive. I ask her and she said, "whats the food gonna be like? u know i dont like english food, its boiled this and mashed that" and thats the only thing the boat offers, then she said to me. "Why are you making that small effort, we always enjoy every day like it was valentines day, so valentines day is just another day for us" so we decided to go and watch a new movie that she has been waiting for for 3/4 months.

I have given her jewllery, she wears 1 necklace and never wears anything else unless she feels like it but on top of that necklace, cause i have it to her.

I gave her a silver bracelet which she wears on her wrist!

A cool silver watch kinda pinky style, she loves it!

Flowers, she always says..where am i gonna keep those flowers? i cant look after them.

Going to different places, SHE LOVES!!! but we cannot leave london as we are waiting for her passport but i always take her far far away places from were we love!

That post was a little confusing and tbh, she sounds spoilt and cheeky, wanting you to buy her chocolate when she wants, and not appreciating a cruise because she doesn't like English food.

Anyway, think of what she likes, and buy her something based around that. Does she have a hobby that you could buy something for? Does she like reading, so you could buy her some books? Films? etc. If she goes to the gym, a gym pass. Or would she want a pet? A rail card, for your days out. Or you could make her something simple, like a photo collage of the two of you. You can also buy little teddies, etc from card shops.

Why is it a bad thing?

If she doesn't want anything, don't get her anything. It seems to me that you want to do things for the sake of being a "good boyfriend" and don't actually listen to anything that she wants. The cruise thing might sound a bit ungrateful but in the end, if you knew that she doesn't like British food then why would you ever take her somewhere that did only British food? That would possibly annoy me too (depending on exact circumstances). It's far more important to have a considerate boyfriend who listens to what you want than to have a boyfriend that insists on buying you stuff regardless of if you'll like it, just so he can show how "romantic" he is.

Learn to accept gifts, I hate people who absolutely refuse to accept presents. You'll give the person who bought you the present a lot more satisfaction if you just say thank you and smile, rather than hold arguements about how you don't want a present.
