No, not loreto but it's very close! It's a catholic girl's school and I'm not catholic

I am doing 4 as well, although I already have 1 so am technically only doing 3 at the moment! I was going to drop english lit after AS, but then they gave me the offer BBb OR BBC with one B in biology, and my insurance is BB so if I didn't get the B in biology it's gotta come from elsewhere if I want my insurance

I'm applying for Psychology what about you?

Oh sweet I only said because I know a few girls from there :o:

Thats a decent offer, and for a good course as well do you study Psychology at the moment?

I applied to do Politics mainly as it interests me and it has a lot of various paths at the end as far as careers go (I have no clue what I want to do yet for the rest of my life lol), what made you choose Psycho?

I'm probably going to be firming Warwick for Maths 2010
    Tough offer, tough offer
Should be awesome. How many of you have visited Warwick? I visited on one of their campus tours and the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant for me.

Now for Student finance and Accommodation applications . I hate paperwork...
    Woo!
Congratulations on wanting to study maths!

    What is your offer? :teeth:

I've already got my A level in psychology, so not (unfortunately) studying it at the moment!
Urhmm, I chose it for a number of reasons. I find it so interesting and relevent, but I also am quite good at it, unlike my other subjects
I also want to become a Clinical Psychologist for teenagers (for personal reasons) and Psychology is the first step towards it

    I'm hoping to do Morse.
And so I got a lower offer
AAA in anything or AAB+2 in any STEP or AAB+merit.
Have they also said to you that if you get a 1/S/distinction, they'll give you £500 too? :woo:

Do you know where you'll be headed, accommodation-wise?

You lucky, lucky person! Lower is always better

And no, they didn't say anything about money for good STEP. That would be cool though. Where did you hear about this? was it in your offer letter or something?

And I'm really undecided on accommodation. On one hand Westwood seems good because its close to university house which I think is quite close to the Maths building, but it's supposed to be rather quiet. I'm completely undecided on that for now :o:

PS for accommodation I found wikipedia has a small guide in addition to what you guys already have here on TSR

Nice one - cheers for the link!

They mentioned the money at the interview day :teeth:

    I'm thinking Westwood now.
Having been there, I think the communal common room idea is great.
I'm more-than-willing to socialise with quiet people (as much as more outgoing people) because I often get on with them better.
    But that's just me!
I can definitely understand why AV and Jack Martin might grab the attention of the most!

Was previously thinking Heronbank just because it's in such a stunning location!

Might e-Mail them about this money! "Dear UoWarwick: I'mapoorstudent doyougivemoneyforstep?". The reply should be amusing if not informative

and quiet people are probably better flatmates, :jive: I don't think the noise would be too good in places like Rootes, to be honest. I'll go for somewhere moderate. Do you know whether their accommodation visits are already up for booking?

Actually, now that I've looked up Heronbank,

Haha, let me know what they say to that!

I'm looking more for friendly people than for lets-go-ape people, but a good share of tomfoolery would be an added bonus! ^^
Moderate sounds like a good attitude

Tbh, I have no idea about accommodation bookings.
    Anyone know?

Ahh, Heronbank ... what a gem!

Apparently (what I have heard from other fimers) we have to write an "about me" so we can be put with others like us in accomodation. I would have NO idea what to write!

Since 2 minutes also an official "firmer" for Warwick '10, just wanted to drop a line and say hello! *drops a line and says hello*

Anybody know when accommodation apps started last year? The website gives little to no information on when we can apply.

    :woo:

About 3 weeks after I firmed Warwick I got an email and it said:

"If you have applied for entry in 2010 and want to live on campus in your first year you will need to apply for accommodation online at www.warwick.ac.uk/go/accommodation . The form will be open from Spring 2010 and the deadline for applications is July 31st 2010."

Not very helpful! But it's something!

Thanks for the info, at least now I know it's not a plot by Warwick conspiring that I can't get accommodation now that I have (rightfully) claimed EU fee status after being labelled as international by the bureaucracy :p: Obviously we're all in the same boat!

I'd love to get my hands on Heronbank

EDIT: Spring '10 starts on March 20th, so maybe that's what they mean? Grasping at straws but that could be it.

You're officially the 3rd person who's said that
So at least there really are others who want to go there!

I don't really understand why someone wouldn't want to go there, huge rooms, en suite and the prices aren't bad (compare to AV for example). Sure, it's not great if you plan on spending half or more of your days in the first year drunk, staggering all the way back home would be tougher at HB than at rootes or somewhere like that :p: I personally don't though and prefer to just get a cheap bike to eliminate the (already minimal) distance annoyance, and have a relatively quiet place to sleep/work.

Hey, I completely agree with nearly all of what you said!
Having close friends is way better than trashing your body for fun ^^
I guess that if you go to Heronbank, there's a fair chance that the others there will think similarly too.

Thinking that Heronbank was more expensive than AV, I was just going off to find evidence ...
    When I saw that you're right - I honestly hadn't noticed that!
The thing is that I'll probably be there only for those 30 weeks anyway, so in my situation AV would be cheaper in effect.
So will you be staying there for the full 39 weeks?
