No it's about growing the **** up. At 17 you are still a teenager with little life experience. At 23, I hope that the average person has done a lot of maturing.(Original post by matt608)
Take off your massively culturally warped spectacles for a moment at least... Life isn't about jumping through hoops and ticking boxes.
Don't come down with some liberal nonsense, and get real. I know that me and every I know ere vastly different at 17 then they are now at 21, let alone in 2 years after graduation.
It's nothing about 'culturally warped spectacles' or whatever pretentious phrase you care to use, it's about maturity.
Young, pure and innocent... watch

If you don't want to lose your virginity then don't
Me and my bf have a 8 year gap and we haven't discussed sex because i'm not ready.
He should be understanding and he should be willing to wait until you are ready, don't rush in to it

different people mature at different rates, christ i know some 17 years olds who are more mature than me! as long as hes not pushing her into anything i dont see the problem
a lot of people said me me when i got with my bf that it was silly because i was 20 and he was 23 'oh you will want to be out clubbing and he will want to sit at home and watch tv cause he will have done and gone past the drinking stage' but it wasnt true at all, me and him were on the samw wave length
