A level choices for PPE watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm currently choosing my a-levels and in the future I hope to study PPE.
I'm predicted all A*s at GCSE.

    I've currently decided on:
Politics, Maths, German and English Lit.

I'm not hugely bothered about english, I'm pretty much only taking it because I know I'm good at it.

I've recently been considering changing it to Chemistry, would that be a good idea? Would a science seem attractive/is it helpful, or would english be better?

I know history is a popular choice, but at the school I'm going to go to you cannot take it if you didn't do it for GCSE, which is annoying.

English is always goot for any uni course as it shows ability to write essays and teaches you some valuable skills which improve your writing and speaking.
It's always good to have a range of choices, such as one science and one humanities subject and so on.

Really I think your choices are great as they are. Languages are extremely hard at A Level, but they look really good when applying, although remember that many unis will look at your grades rather than the subject so don't take anything that you know you might not be very good at compared to other subjects.
Politics is great and really interesting and obviously helps with the uni course you will be taking.
Maths is another hard one, and again, looks good, maths is a very valuable skill.

Chemistry is only really important if taking something science related such as psychology or medicine.

That's what I was thinking. It's not particularly relevant, it just shows a bit of variation. I'll talk with the head teacher of the school that I am applying to about either taking Chemistry as a fifth AS or perhaps not taking it because it's not hugely relevant.
    Thank you for replying.
