Avoid McAfee and Norton like the plague! Everyone knows Norton is bloatware. I used McAfee for about 3 years. First it was quite good, but eventually bloated up too. My sisters laptop and my dads desktop have it and both their computers run unbelievably slow. Turns out McAfee uses as many cpu cycles as Windows will give it at start up.
as much as i dont want to turn this society thread into another mac vs pc or which antivirus thread, which always are a waste of time and which everyone in here probably hate, my short answer would be... i disagree

I don't think we have a prize giving. What were the prizes? :teeth:

First prize was £100 each + a bottle of champagne each, and second/third/fourth prize was a bottle of champagne each.

Were you told about the prizes when you started the project? I'm hoping for a surprise prize giving. :teeth:

Well we knew nothing about the champagne, but we knew about the cash prize. The whole project feels like a waste of time now :nn:

:holmes: But it's coursework isn't it? So you'll be graded on it, no?

Yup, but it's worth such a disproportionate amount of the year given the amount of work put into it (about 6%).

My project is 50% of the module for this semester.

We calculate by module per semester if that makes sense, where yours seems to be by module per year? :holmes:

Semesters confuse me so I'm not entirely sure how you do things, but yes we do things per year. So, a module will normally only run for one term (very occasionally two), and that module will hold a certain weighting for the whole year. Each year has its own weighting too - first year was worth 10% of the degree, second year I think is worth 20%.

By the way guise, I'm right in saying that it's still the case that anything at all to do with a laptop goes in mobile computing, right? Nothing's changed without me realising?

There's one at the start of every year, usually at the first staff-student meeting.
I hate people, one of the people on my team is missing a 20 credit dissertation hand in and the presentation because he's on a boat next week:mad:
