I like some dramas, such as:
    House
    Spooks
    Hustle
    CSI
    Ashes to Ashes
    etc.
I also like documentaries, and a variety of satirical and just downright funny entertainment programmes, like:
    Top Gear
Have I Got News For You?
    Mock the Week
    QI

I'm also an avid viewer of University Challenge, when it's on.
And when I'm not watching any of those, I tend to have the BBC News Channel on in the background.

You'll probably notice a strong bias towards the BBC here, and that's because I tend to only use iPlayer. Note also the lack of ITV - mainly because I don't care what's on, I just know it to already be ****.
yay for hustle, top gear, and mock the week

Sometimes. Mainly documentaries, though. I don't recall ever seeing Only Connect.

The only reason I ended up watching it is because I knew one of the team captains. :p: He got through to the semi-final, not too shabby.

    How about Newswipe?

I've seen Newswipe a couple of times actually and it's quite good.

dell have a new laptop out, Inspiron M301Z.

    3 things:
it looks like it's heading into cheap macbook territory
there are a raft of laptops now without optical drives. i read a very interesting article a while ago, i think with quotes from bill gates, saying that perhaps blu-ray will be the last optical media used. yes, this could be to make people buy an external, but perhaps a push to downloading/streaming everything?
they also charge £5.01 if you want an OS CD

You won't kill off optical formats that easily. :holmes: It'll be a cold day in Hell when small/indie record labels stop distributing via CD. And optical formats are still one of the most reliable backup media, excluding tape drives.
