    Fellas,
I have been tasked with creating a video for a freshers fair stand.
Now, I have last years video which contains still images and some actual footage.
For my video I need to use some of last years footage.
Is there anyway open the video or extract pieces of the video?
Hmm, that sounds odd, in other words, can I grab small pieces of video?

    Get a Mac.

    Spoiler:

Seriously though, you should just be able to chop up some video using video software like iMovie, Sony Vegas etc. I'm sure there are some decent free tools available, too, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing.

    I think avidemux will do.
This link is specifically how to cut up movies - http://www.avidemux.org/admWiki/doku...=using:cutting
There is another readme for mpegs if it's not an avi.

I used one free that came with Prism Video converter.
I did try that one, found the Prism one much easier for what I needed.
God, looking for pictures and editing footage is tedious.
    Wanna see my vid?

Avidemux is horrible. The options for non-commercial video editing software is pretty limited sadly.
    Go for it.

    Agreed, they are awesome.

On another note, should be installing the 10.10 beta at some point this week (possibly next weekend). Should be fun, will post thoughts in a 'review thread'.
