    Yeah, he'd pretty much designed an EPoS system for his employer, but he ran into a massive database issue that he couldn't resolve easily at all.
    Thats just crazy, the size of the system anyway... our honours project are no where near that size.

    A+ is a good entry level "I can fix computers" cert. Network+ and Security+ are also pretty worthwhile. And the great thing with them is that you can learn them all pretty inexpensively from home.

    The certification exams are pretty standard - you do them at a ProMetric test centre.

    The exam prep takes as long as it takes you to get through the syllabus really.
