    Care to expand? :p:
Reverse engineering malware is incredibly dull. It involves programming and that sucks.

I assume you've all seen this, but it's amusing anyway.
COBOL would be Ancient Paganism - There was once a time when it ruled over a vast region and was important, but nowadays it's almost dead, for the good of us all. Although many were scarred by the rituals demanded by its deities, there are some who insist on keeping it alive even today.

Not bad, was/am attempting a withdrawal from TSR during my exam period. Not completely successful, but could be worse.
TIL that C is a language of technicalities and if you don't know them, you're screwed.
What language do you do malware analysis in? I would have more guessed it to be reading assembler...

Correct. It's pretty awful really. I'm bad enough with coherently programmed C++/Java, but assembly is godawful to follow. Fortunately, the malware in question is Back Orifice, so it's not especially huge/sophisticated.

C++, Java and Assembler. Awards right there for the languages most impossible to be elegant or 'pretty' in. Yeah there are others that rank up there, but you sure know how to pick 'em.
Oh man, hacker and cracker groups sure know how to name their tools :teehee:

    Computer: Yo (SYN)
    Server: Hey dude (SYN, ACK)
Computer: Nice one, I can hear you (ACK)
Computer: I want to perv on www.ciderspe.com please (HTTP GET)
    Server: Sure thing man (ACK)
    Computer: ......<time passes>.....
    Computer:
    Spoiler:
    Show

Rinse and repeat until server decides to actually send the http response/it successfully gets received.
I could speculate why, but it would amount to guesses about tcp connection allocation.
