I was in a similar situation but then got lucky in every sense of the word one night. It turns out that I'd watched so much porn that I was actually quite good and she didn't notice I was a virgin. True story!

Because I am a virgin, I'd actually rather lose mine to another virgin, I don't know why but I'd feel inferior in a relationship where the other person has already had sex...Like it wouldn't be special? I don't know. *rambles*

I get what you mean, when I first had it with my husband we were both virgins and it actually felt better as we both hadn't a clue, and were very young. Although I did end up preg at 14, giving birth with twins at 15, which wasn't good.

I was going to say same thing.

Although saying it wasn't good is a lie as I now love it, although 3 kids 10 and above is tiring but fun. lol! and yes I was preg at 16, gave firth at 17. I seem to love giving birth to kids around my birthday, although my fourth and Final was a summer baby.

Well...I recently broke up with my boyfriend and I've been thinking about this. I was a virgin when we started going out but over the last 9 months got very good at sex (I have nothing to compare it to, but it certainly felt good to me!) so I don't particularly want to have to start again in some ways. I'm kind of done with the nervous, insecure phase that we had and would rather my next boyfriend knew what to do with me, as it were.

Of course having said this, if I liked the guy (and presumably I would if we were in bed together), his inexperience wouldn't *actually* bother me so long as he was somewhat confident. I'd imagine it would be quite fun teaching him how to do stuff...

It isn't really that off-putting. Some may even like the fact that a guy is a virgin.

Ha that always sounds really good in your head when you say it from your own point of view, but from the viewpoint of the other person it is hard to get to sink in. Still good to hear though.

It's ridiculous that people reject others based on whether they are virgins or not...everyone is or has once been one.

I don't see the problem...OH MY GOODNESS there's someone who actually doesn't just jump in bed with the first member of the opposite sex they see. How dreadful! The only reason I can see that someone would reject someone else is that 1) they're scared that the other person will develop too much of an emotional attachment to them 2) they're just up themselves...in either case they're not the kinda people I would even consider losing my virginity to.

The insecurity comes from so many things; its a completely new thing you've never done before, you could potentially be judged for your performance and also that this insecurity might actually come across, thus being a massive turn off.

It may sound easy to pick and choose who you lose it to, but when you just want to have a normal late teens to 20s lifestyle whereby there is always the possibility that casual sex may happen its not always that easy. If you get the luck of the draw and find yourself in a laidback relationship in which you feel you can be yourself... thats a different story. I think the only way to do it is to go in with a "what's the worst that could happen" attitude.

I am not very experienced myself... and I am always thinking first about whether my lack of experience will be disappointing...
but to be honest, the most important thing is confidence...just enjoy yourself.
Most girls will not be bothered that you are a virgin. Id tell them though, once you get to know her obviously, I expect she won't mind at all and if she does.... she isn't the right girl after all.
