    Hi,

So i've only been playing for a couple months so i'm really unknowledgeable. Recently got my guitar set up at a music shop, they lowered the action, fixed it all up and put on brand new strings, so this isn't to do with the guitar being old.

My flatmate stupidly and annoyingly knocked my guitar over in my room, easily done, but every time i've knocked it over i've managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She watched it hit the end of my wooden bed.
She was holding a glass of juice, and in an attempt to pick it up, she spilt the juice all over it.
Ok it was an accident but it did annoy me a lot, especially cos i try to take real good care of my guitar

anyway i thought it was ok but it's not, the E and A string are dead now, it sounds as if they're muted. How could this have happened? Is it cos the juice was sticky or something lol, or could something have knocked? What do i have to do to make them good again?

Any help much appreciated i'm sad!
    Thank u x

Do you know what brand/model of guitar it is? Acoustic, electric? It could be a number of things depending on those.

    Restring it?

New strings are only like £5-10

it's an acoustic, some crappy brand, its like 20 years old. I saw the little peg things in the bridge were sticking out on the A and E string so i bashed them back in, helped a bit but they're still not sounding right.

Reckon i'll just ask for a new one for my birthday lol, this one's second hand anyways x

Maybe try pulling the pegs out and then putting them back in? If you don't know how to get them out, best way I find is to use a spoon and to force them out that way.

new guitars aren't always better you may find you prefer the mojo of the old one. but I guess it's all down to personal preference.

if i were you i'd take it back to the shop and just ask them to maybe restring it for you and make sure it's all ok. nothing like a good shop setup to get it all sounding good again!!
