So I'm going to teach English in China for 12 months starting from August with a gap year organisation.

I was wondering if any of you know any trusts/organisations that help fund educational gap year projects? I've heard back from a few so far with positive replies, so I am willing to swap details if required.

    Cheers.

Hello! Not sure for any gap year specific ones but I did the same for an international Guiding trip

Your local parish council, local Rotary clubs, Lions Club and Round Table are your best bet. I got £700 from these guys combined! It's quite a lot of fun going back to do the presentations after too.

I know of this place but my criteria didn't fit for a grant, depends what you're doing but you might be able to qualify?

Deadline for this has passed and it's only available if your school's part of it, I've applied.

Maybe look for some China specific funds who might help you out? When I went with Guiding I applied to a lot of guiding specific charities.

Congrats on the positive replies!! I'm also going to China to teach English next year and going to Fiji. Who were your positives from ?
