I've just found on a website that there are places available on the GTP scheme for science this year
Since I've worked in the science department of a school I've sort of been holding out for a good time to see whether they'd be interested in taking me on under the GTP scheme but it's rather difficult at the moment, they're not even registered on the scheme and these hopes are fading - shame, I love the school and the department is brilliant
Now I'm looking at GTP places but thought I wouldn't be able to apply until september for the following year. Now I've found that there may be a chance of starting this year, I am seriously considering applying But certain things are stopping me:
-Is there really a place still available and why?? I presume checking that the place is still available first is wise.
-I've never volunteered in a school, will this go against me? However I have tutored at GCSE and KS2 level, but without evidence and I currently work in the science department of a school in a support role and obviously have many connections with staff, students and the lessons themself.
-I'm worried about what school I'll be placed in The only reason for this is that I've worked in such a brilliant school with awesome colleagues... if I was applying ahving never had this experience I wouldn't think twice!
What you think guys, enquire and apply???
