I am hoping to be accepted on to a Masters in Social Work sometime in the future. I am currently working as a children in need social work assistant building up my experience base for my applications.

I live in Durham in north east England and am hoping to stay local while I study. I know that Durham offer the masters entry route and also Northumbria, but was wondering if anyone has any experience of either of these courses and could offer any advice/ pros and cons etc?

    Any suggestions/advice welcome! Thanks!

I should be starting at Durham in September, the staff seem to be friendly and supportive. I believe its 3 days on placement and 2 days in uni between 9.30-3.30. This is better than some uni's whereby you do the placement with very little academic time available to you, and so if you need support or simply want to talk about things with your classmates its quite good if you are in uni 2 days a week. I believe the class sizes are quite small, about 45 people are accepted onto the course.
