    Hi,
    Hoping you can help me.
I'm a mature student currently studying an access to higher education course.
I planned to go travelling for a year and then begin uni in 2011 but after speaking to my tutor she told me to apply for his year as i wouldn't be available for the interviews in 2011 so they would probably reject me.
I did briefly mention in my personal statement about doing some volunteer work whilst travelling over the summer, to cover my back, but i haven't mentioned it in my interviews that the plan is for a year.
Do I wait for all my offers and then speak to them individually about deffering? I really don't want to loose my place thats all!!
    Hoping someone can help me.

Why didn't you apply this year for deferred entry, which is presumably what your tutor meant? It shouldn't affect your chances of an offer, but you should ask if you can defer your offer sooner rather than later so as not to mess them around. A brief justification of why you wish to defer, in particular that you will be doing "useful" and beneficial stuff on your gap year would be helpful I would think.

my tutor told me they would interview next year and so I would miss out.
I'm now starting to realise I should have ticked the deferred entry box but my tutor said not to.
I've already had 3 interviews and 1 offer. am i best changing my application form or speaking to the individual universities?

You can't change the application form yourself, you need to contact both UCAS and the individual universities if you wish to change it, although if you call the universities then they might notify UCAS for you.

should i complete the rest of my interviews, wait for their reply and then contact them? I've had 3 interviews so far, (1 offer, 1 unsuccessful & 1 awaiting to update ucas)I've got an interview tomorrow & 1 more to hear from then that's them all. The Uni I have had an offer from responded to an email I sent a few months ago telling me to just apply for this year and deffering wouldn't be a problem so i'm not too worried about that one it's just the others if i'm lucky to get an offer.
would I be better to call or email then I have it in writing?
    Thanks for your help.
