    Hello,

I've been feeling depressed lately well since before Christmas anyway and it's resulted in me smoking cannabis to chill out which know one knows about. Anyway I'm 19 and will be spending my 2nd valentines single I can't for the life of me understand why I'm not some ugly fat kid I'm well toned up I'm outgoing but would find it hard very hard to go just up to a girl I like in my college canteen for example and get to know her.

Lifes just **** at the moment for me pretty much all my mates are linking and out with their girls while I've been single for the last 9 months even my dad asks me about it alot and I feel really bad about it.

I don't know what to do I don't know if I'm scared of rejection or the fact that knowing my luck I'll die a single old man.

She'll come when the time is right. better to be single than with someone you don't really love

When you're 40 and in a loveless marriage you'll kick yourself for ever wanting a relationship at the ripe old age of 19. MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR FREEDOM.

what you don't understand is it is the majority of people our age that are single! Not everyone is coupled off. Wait love to come to you if you can't go after it.

19 is sooo young! you have the rest of your life to find someone who you truly love! I'm 17 and i've never been in love, had about 2 boyfriends and the rest of the time just played the field a bit! when you're in your 30s/40s/50s you should be 'worried' ! xx

Oh no, another thread "I'm single and depressed". I know valentine's day is coming but what's the matter with you people? You don't have a sell-by date, so there's no need to rush. OP I'm pretty sure you won't die alone.

Exactly this. 9 months really isn't that long to have been single. And if you've only spent 2 Valentine's as single then you're lucky!

I'm another one who, at 19, has only had 3 girlfriends and has never had one over Valentine's (and personally, I think that's nothing out of the ordinary at our age to be honest).

In fact, I have a little story that might make you feel better about being single... I thought I was going to have a girlfriend over Valentine's this year - planned a really special weekend for us, bought all her presents and the such - only for her to text me the day after I'd bought everything, telling me it's over (2 days later she was with another lad - so obviously she'd cheated on me and gone off with him).

On reflection, I hope you realise that being single is a lot better than being with the wrong person and getting s**t on

Also, read my sig and take that message on board
