If you have to do at least 11 I would do just 11. It's not the quantity of the GCSE's... It's the quality. Work harder on 11. If it was me I wouldn't take PE or Business, but then I suppose PE would be more useful considering the health side of it

Considering you need good grades only do the subjects you're good at. Don't drop a subject you're good at for a subject you're not as good at.

:sadnod: Yep, our Year 8s have to choose (alongside core curriculum) 5 options, 2 of which they drop to go into year 10 (we have a lot of compulsory subjects compared to some schools). I think Year 8 is too early personally but there you go!!

OP, those sound like a good set of options, although personally I wouldn't do business, but if you think you'd enjoy it then do it, you'll get a better grade in something you enjoy. You're leaving your options open with those choices, and the sciences are there for medicine if that is what you end up pursuing. Good luck!

    why dont you do french?

it will compliment your spanish and it could potentially set you up for a language a level which are scarcely done so they look really strong

There's nothing wrong with what you have chosen. Plenty of respectable subjects in there, you've got all the core subjects down so I don't see a problem. Do business if you enjoy it. I do and I really like it and I'm on my way to getting a top grade, I see no reason you shouldn't do it.

You could ask your school for resources for hindi gcses and do it in your own time, people at my school sit exams for urdu and russian even though its not taught.

Its ok, are you fluent in your native language?....because it will be really easy for you. When i was sitting my french module, a year 9 was there sitting urdu and he found it sooo easy!.....plus you wont have to sit through lesson week in week out, just sit the exams on the given day and produce the coursework whenever.
ye i can see your point, it does seem like a free GCSE:rolleyes: , but then again i can only speak hindi, not write or read it... anyway, what do u think of my choices so far?

Well you want to become a doctor like me!....so i wouldnt choose business, Iv heard it was ridiculously easy and seen as a soft subject. There are some good choices e.g. History, geography etc.....stick with spanish, language is always good. BTW you say you can only speak hindi, not read or write, so it might be a bit harder, but i guess someon from your family can teach you.
but then again I've heard some people say that GCSE's don't really matter for medics, just so long as you manage to get good A-levels? and is learning a whole new writing system really worth it for an extra GCSE? at least the alphabet in Spanish etc. is similar 2 English?
:eek3: :eek3: freaking out over the vast variety of choices!!:eek3: :eek3:
