Spend it on whatever you want dude. If you can afford it, and you really want 1, then go for it.

Plus they are cheaper than a PS3

If you want one, can afford it and will enjoy having it, then I don't see why not (aside from suggesting that you get a PS3 instead ). Many students spend their money on much 'worse'! :p:

If you can afford it you should consider it but then think how much it may destroy your study time or even perhaps your social time, although playing games for a bit does help you relax and escape from work which is good (although playing against 10 year old ******* little kids does piss you off :mad2: ).

But isn't the point of student finance is to buy food and essentials?

Hence my emphasis on *if* you can afford it. Make sure that you've got enough money to buy your essentials, but if you're comfortable that you're not going to leave yourself short then there's nothing wrong with spending *some* of your money on entertainment.

    You should get a PS3 , because:
= Built in Wireless adapter (xbox ones cost around 40 pounds )
= Free Online Multiplayer (xbox live requires 35 pound subscription a year )
    = Built-in Blu-Ray Player. ( usually cost around 100 alone )
= Controller comes with charging cables ( xbox requires you to pay 15 for a play and charge kit )
    = Better games :P

I'd get the PS3 , because it works out cheaper in the long run.

But then again, should he be taking that advice from a guy with a PlayStation logo in his avatar?

Although personally, I would buy the PS3.

Buy only if you can afford it, remember that food and accommodation come first

If you can afford it, go for it.

If you can't afford it, don't. Remember that you'll need to spend money on games as well for it to be any use.

Ensure that you have a little bit aside in case you have an unexpected need for money before you buy
