An intern I knew started a relationship with their boss. They got converted.

So, no hard and fast rules.

I heard of one intern last summer who became pretty infamous on the trading floor for her conquests...I'm talking, double figures. I heard she didn't get an offer. It was quite sad.

I worked in retail for 2 years. About 6 months before i left me and my supervisor had a "thing". We were on a work night out and I'd had an exam during the day and started drinking straight after it. We all met up about 12 hours later (solid drinking for me and a mate) and it all goes hazy about 2 hours after we met up. Next morning, I wake up in her bed, go home, go to work and everybody knows about it. She's dumped her boyfriend for me and I'm left feeling like a **** because I made it clear I didnt want a relationship with that age difference and was going to uni.

Anywho, we now talk to each other and are actually quite good friends. It was a ***** time in my life when it happened (going through a rough patch with ex's and the like) but its all better now.

And if yur thinking about it, it depends who it is, how it occurs. But at times it can be a pain in the arse. =)

It's probably hard to say no when the ugly person (who happens to be responsible for deciding whether you get a full-time offer) makes an approach.

That's what sexual harassment lawsuits are for...

It needs to stay between the people involved. Gossip and rumour do not look good to the bosses.

If that's an honest question: it's a girl who works in Human Resources.

It's a sad fact of the job market that nobody male works in HR; thus, the cultural phenomenon of the pretty, sexualised "HR girl" that some females working in these jobs inexplicably play up to and thus propagate the stereotype.

Interns happens all the time. Analyst/Associates more risky (longer time-frame of working together).

On my first day I was told that some of the people in this room (the other starters) will probably end up married to each other. It's no biggy, sex in the office is probably an issue, but I know people through work (consultancy, not banking) who have got married and met originally in the office

To be fair, if working 80-100 hours a week, where the hell else is one supposed to meet people?! Makes sense that people hook up with colleagues...

Totally agree with you, I'd find it odd that people think otherwise. After uni your social circle does tend to become work people, whether you just work with them on a day to day basis, or socialise with them outside of work through sport/whatever. I've still got friends from home and uni obviously, but you just don't tend to meet new people as frequently, not outside of work anyway

a friend of mine was a summer intern in an IBD team. After a few weeks in the team, he found out that they was in a team where everyone was a couple!! (except for him ofcourse). Actually, his team was know as the "work together, live together" team....... it was really awkward to say the least!!
