# How do I solve differential equation with IF? watch

1. I need to learn how to solve exact differential equation and solve them by integrating factor. does anyone knows of any books or video online so I teach myself? The lecture notes are so not helpful.

3. On the AQA website, there should be an online FP3 textbook with a chapter on D.Es in the maths section

A very simple way to think about it is:

(where P and Q are functions of x), then:

The notation might not be perfect, but the whole "yiff equals qwiff" method works well enough for us. You can easily divide by the IF at the end to get it all nicely to y=, and remember you might need to divide through by a function of x at the beginning to make sure you have a plain dy/dx.
