Very occasionally i have experienced this, and it would last for around 5-20 minutes.
The sides of my chest hurt quite badly, my chest feels tight and empty, breathing becomes difficult. It often makes me sweat a lot and feel very weak. When i get these 'attacks' i have to sit or lie down and find it near impossible to get up

It has happened maybe 4 or 5 times ever, 3 of them within about 6 months. the worst was the other night when i was at a club. I had my heartbeat and blood pressure checked neither were abnormal.
The times i can remember it happening were in a supermarket twice, on a train, and in school.

I was told it could be some form of asthma, or it could be some sort of panic/anxiety attack.

If anybody has had similar things i would ask to please help me to have an idea of what it could be,
and please no comments saying 'go to the doctors', i already have an appointment.

    Thankyou

If this is anything similar.. sometimes I get this feeling like im having an electric shock in my chest where i can only breathe in a tiny amount before I get that feeling... I have to keep taking really shallow breaths which make me feel light headed until it subsides after about 5 minutes.

Could be asthma, palpitations, panic attacks.. could be anything really. Chest pain and shortness of breath are SERIOUS symptoms. Next time you might not be so lucky and it just "gets better". There really is no way to tell based on those symptoms as they are vague, just try not to over-exert yourself until you see the doctor
