What's the most accurate qualititave test for the Group 2 Metals?

Ways of evaluating the volumes of gas evolved during a reaction.

The words 'qualitative' and 'accurate' don't really go together.

Qualitative tests for group II metal ions depend on precipitation of the sulphate and hydroxides, and flame tests.

Ba2+ has a very insoluble white sulphate and a soluble hydroxide. Salts give an apple green flame test.
Sr2+ has a fairly insoluble sulphate and a slightly soluble hydroxide. Salts give a crimson flame test.
Ca2+ has a fairly insoluble sulphate and a slightly soluble hydroxide. Salts give a brick red flame test.
Mg2+ has a soluble sulphate and an insoluble white hydroxide which does not dissolve in excess NaOH or NH3
