    One of my Zebra Danio fish has a wierd mouth. It sort of sticks out a bit. Why is this?

    I've never known why this is. A lot of the minnows at work do this after the delivery . . . and then die. Sorry.

    Although we have one who seems fine, but his mouth is stretched in a permanent "yawn" and has been for weeks.

    I can tell you what it isn't - it isn't fungal, it isn't an internal parasite (although it could be one lodged in the mouth), it isn't an external parasite. It could be a deformity (has it always been like this) or something stuck in it's mouth. Is it still eating?

    Do you know your water stats? Ammonia and nitrite readings?

    Okay. I'll try that link.
    The fish has been like that for a while and the fish seems fine. the lother danio seems fine as well as the minnows so I am not sure why it is just that fish.

    A lot of tropical fish just have deformities as they're bred further and further away from wild stock, I guess. My zebra danios never did last that long. They're not as hardy as they used to be.
