    Paper 1
    1 hour 15 mins.
    Max Mark - 72
The paper has three questions split into (a) 12 mark and (b) 24 marker in each of these questions. You answer two out of the three.

    Paper 2
    1 hour 30 mins.
    Max Mark - 72
Question 1 is compulsory. Use Sources and your own knowledge. (a) is 12 marks (b) is 24 marks
After this you can choose either Question 2 or 3
Once again, (a) is 12 marks (b) is 24 marks
However Question 2/3 is own knowledge

If I'm correct unit 1 you have 1h15 to answer two of three questions. Each question is made up of a 12 mark a) section and a 24 mark b) section.

Unit 2 you have 1h30 again to answer 2 questions however question 1 is source based and you must do it. You then have a choice between question 2 and 3.
    Hope this helps.

I affirm the above as correct.

However, in paper 2 - question choice 2 and 3 (of which you have to do one) are both from 'own knowledge' only and no sources are involved. Not just question 3.

Hmm I'd have thought 2-3 solid points for the 12 mark and 4-6 solid points for the 24 mark.
I don't think you'd have time to make more than that if you want to write a decent essay in that amount of time.

In the Mock I got marked down for contradicting myself

The Question was do you think Finance was most important source of disagreement between the crown and parliament blah blah

So I listed 6 points of disagreement, at the end of each point I would say this suggests Religion was the most important source of conflict and not finacance or id say this suggests Foriegn policy and not finance was the most important source of conflict

then in my conclusion I said I think Religion was the most important source of conflict

but in the comments the teacher said I was contradicting myself by saying finance and foreign policy was the most important source of conflict in the same essay  how do I overcome the problem of trying to link back the question with out contradiction myself

also would you have a intro and conclusion for part A) ?

Hmm well Im not sure of what you wrote in your essay. However if you've written both foriegn policy and religion then you have a problem, obviously.
In each paragraph try and link it back to the question. At the end of each paragraph, qualify it by giving a sentence on a contrasting view.
And yes, a short intro and conclusion seems good, if not essential.

I try to link each paragraph by saying this point suggests the this factor is more important than the original statement

then on another point i say this point suggest the original statement is valid

but I got marked down by my crazy teacher

Of course. I got shot down in my first year for not doing it.
    Exam technique ftw :moon:
I mean, how can you get marks if you don't answer the question, and only the question :moon:
