Last night I sent Leeds Met this e-mail:

'Hi there, currently I hold an offer with yourselves to start on the Journalism full time BA (Hons) course in 2010 and consequently accepted this as my firm offer. I have always wanted to go into teaching after completing my degree but have since realised that Journalism isn't the best subject to specialise in, therefore I would like to ask if it would be possible to change my course choice to that in 'Education Studies BA (Hons)' instead. I understand that it requires less UCAS points than the Journalism course so hopefully that side of things shouldn't be a problem? I would be happy to attend an interview if necessary or amend my application in any way.'

pretty standard I though, and shouldn't cause problems really, alas I woke up to this today:

    'Dear Sarah,

Thank you for your email. I’m afraid since you have received an offer for Journalism (P500) it is not possible to change this course choice.

Should you have any further questions please get in touch.

    Regards,

    Admissions Office'

now, is that me or is that just a pretty blunt reply? am i only allowed to change my course once ive actually enrolled essentially causing more problems than it would if i changed it now?! I really don't see the issue here.

    someone please enlighten me? thanks

    EDIT:

I have since received a reply stating

'We would strongly recommend you don’t enrol upon a course with the sole intention of changing once it has started.

    Regards,

    Admissions Office'

is it really such a bad thing that i'm wanting to do

That's a bit weird; they should let you change degrees. Try phoning them instead.

i'm not sure if you're still using this site.
but i was wondering if you worked this problem out? did you transfer course eventually.
i also hold an unconditional offer with Leeds Met, but would like to transfer to another course before i start in september, and i'm contemplating the best way to go about it
