    3. Very long lists of contacts for different placements are put up on notice boards. The placements are spread out all over the country, and the variety is wide, e.g. for horses there are riding, racing stable, college stables, etc.
Kat, is Geoff Davies leaving? I've heard quite a bit about him, seems like a useful guy.

ditto with enors Q though, ive got a farmer actually begging me to do lambing for him next year for my EMS, and he wants to no when to put the ram in so it fits in my easter holidays.. but obviously this is no good if u have to go where they send you??! even if it was close enough to home u didnt need acccomadation????

also how do u arrange yr other EMS, do u look at a database and see where u looks good/is nr to home or whatever, if u wanted to go back to say a diary farm u did work exp at, would that be possible?? do teh vet school have to check its ok and things????

cant think of anything else at this moment but thanks for all yr answers

Hmm when i went to liverpool everyone was very quiet especially when i went around leahurst ,which was very rushed and dis-organised, and all the students looked pretty fed up lol. So it goes in swings i suppose.

    Well to rebut steph.
When i visted hawkshead and went to the camden campus i had a similar experience to steph i loved them both to peices! At RVC i felt the staff were just as friendly as liverpool but i think the difference in size takes away the community feel a bit. However i think the lack of community compared to the other vet schools allows you a lot more independance to meet and mix with more people you want to spend time with whereas as the others you will be pretty much be spending your time with the same hundred people for 5 years. The other thing about RVC is it's part of the university of london which has the university of london union so like the other vet schools you will be mixing with non vetty people also even if the majority of your friends are vets just like the other vets schools but the RVC is 100% vet focused unlike the rest. As for RVC students not being friendly steph didn't meet the girls who showed me and claire around clearly and loads of the students came up to me out of the blue and asked if i need any help or had any questions:yes: The lack of boys things i can understand however it is not like there will be no boys at all, i am going! Oh and hawkshead has the most amazing facilities ever if you haven't been :woo: a lot better then leahurst in my opinion. People from up north are more friendly then down south agreed however as a student you tend to just to mix with other students on the whole who come from all over the place. As for living in London you know yourself whether you would want to live in a big busy city, it is like marmite, you will either love it or hate it but if you love it there is absolutley no where better then London to be! Other things i like about RVC is the amazing international reputation and if you are like me and want to work and travel abroad i think this is a big bonus point and you can intercalate a degree at another london uni if you liked. RVC grads are very sort after as well with like 99% finding a job. RVC also seems to be a great place to go if you are interested in going down the research route or specialising in something with quite a lot of grads going down that route. I can think of a few other things but my fingers are getting a bit tired!
Only big drawback to RVC is the cost but i think for me at least i would rather have a bit more student debt and go to somewhere amazing
I can understand it is a hard choice i was almost completely undecided a few weeks ago but i just decided to go with my gut instinct in the end

You just ruined my 100% sureness of Nottingham! xD

northern, when u looks at RVCs facilties, did u think of it as being used by twice the amount of people?? cuz thats what i think i didnt think of at the time, yeh its impressive, but it should be twice (or more) the size of any other vet schools because of teh no of students, when i thought id be sharing that with 249 other people, it didnt seem as impressive when u think of sharing leahurst with only 119 others... i dont no if anyone else thought the same, yeh RVC is big and impressive, but its being used by so many more people..

Hmm yeah that probably explains why the facilities at RVC are more impressive more people so more money to spend. But it is not like because there are double the amount of people you use the facilities half as much. The majority of the facilities at RVC are larger in size then the rest though ( it seemed to me anyway) so it can accomadate the larger amount of people though and the things which are not i assume will be on some sort of roter so half the year use something in the morning and the rest in the afternoon while the rest are doing something else in another part of the college.
