With the extent that women get worried about this stuff, I feel like it must be for a fairly decent reason and so maybe men just don't understand them. Can't comment on the job prospects for example.
But I just really don't understand why magazines always come out as a reason for women feeling bad about themselves. Do women realise that men don't read magazines? Only women do - and whatever is inside them is only womens opinions that they learnt themselves from a similar magazine earlier in life.
Meanwhile men never used to read them and still don't, and we sit around scratching our heads when women get worked up about them because not many men actually want a really skinny girl who is all bones. Maybe some, but not anything like as many as I feel women think. I myself like girls to be more in the 10-12 range which isn't big or anything, I know, but it isn't the size that magazines suggest you should be (well I still have never read one, I'm just inferring from what everyone says about them that they would consider 10-12 too big.)
I know I can't generalise about most men from myself, but I've spoken to other guys about this before and they very often agree. So ladies, just stop reading crap magazines, pick up the sports section of a newspaper - and feel bad about how awful your local team is instead.
