Go for mercury point, (liberty living, private company) as nice as the best uni ones, and cheaper/as close to uni. They'll put you with other Solent students on a floor with other ones too.

Look at Student no fee, Leaders, Lettings direct. they are the ones I can think of at the moment.

I'm in the Lucia Foster Welch halls at the moment. each halls has its own characteristic and things which attract or put you off.

    Enjoy your uni experience.

I got an unconditional offer two days ago to do Web Design and Internet Technology. Can't say much about accomodation though as I'm commuting from outside Portsmouth every day (not looking forwards to petrol/parking bills!) but I really can't wait to get started. Just waiting for a welcome pack or something to arrive now.

Parking can be rather difficult. I know a guy who commutes by train from Brighton each day he has to be in. Considered that?

I have yes, but where I have a child I'd feel better having my car in an emergency so I can get back to her faster (It's a 20-30 minute drive). Motherly worries kicking in, hah.

Today I made my UCAS decision and picked Solent for sport science with UCLAN as insurance (Strength and conditioning). Does anybody know what the city and uni of southampton and course is like?

Also how does the accomodation work in the first year?
    Solent's awesome mate

The sports facilities there are top-notch, a lot funding in to them.

Also, I think they may do something with Southampton FC?

    Not sure though.

    Great Uni

Depends upon the club really. Some clubs get loads of funding while others get very little.

Not really, obviously there are clubs that get a little more.

But they are all very well funded.

Yes really. The scuba club struggles to get £20 per student (think that was the figure I got quoted), whilst the sailing club for instance gets much much more than that. It's one of the reasons why joining that club is fairly expensive as subsidies from the club are limited.
