    Hey guys

Okay... I'm looking for a good/thorough book on statistics/probability. The set text is Mathematical Statistics with Applications, which is an excellent textbook, and covers lots of the content thoroughly, but I'm a bit confused on the negative binomial at the moment, and thought in general it might be a good idea to try another book which may explain things in a different way and so complement the set text.

The one by De Groot was my core text.
