got a new car yesterday which has a tape player (my last had a cd player)
it is removable (not built in), so is it possible to replace with a cd player?
and if so is it easy enough to do myself or would you recommend a professional do it?

The advantage of those casettes is that they just use a headphone jack, so they can be plugged into an mp3 player / ipod too.

the 'best' solution to such sagas is to get to a marque specific breaker and ask them how much to swap your headunit for a CD one ... ( and thus maintain the use of the remote controls remote displays and the like )
