    Hi!

Over the last week, I've made Roehampton Uni my firm choice and got an e-mail from Roehampton saying that I can apply for accommodation soon. I'm going to be studying Primary Education, therefore, I'll; be applying for accommodation at Froebel College. I was wondering if any current or past students could give me advice on what's the best accommodation at Froebel? I spend ages in the bathroom so I've narrowed it down to the fact that I pretty much need en-suite otherwise I'm going to actually drive my house/flat mates completely insane...and also I'd prefer to be self-catering so I'm not so restricted food-wise. So I've done my research and that's narrowed it down to Aspen House and Linden House. Which one is the best to go for?

Thanks so much in advance for your help

There's pretty much no difference between Aspen and Linden - they're almost next door to each other, at the 'far' end of the Froebel campus. I believe the accommodation is more or less identical too in terms of room size etc, so either is ok and there's no real bother about choosing one or the other. I've been in a room in one of them (can't remember which, sorry, I'm an ex-student and it was a couple of years ago) but it was a nice room, fairly spacious with a good sized en-suite with shower. The kitchens are nice too, and there was lots of space to sit and socialise. I liked the location - as I said it's at the 'far' end of the Froebel campus, next to the Jebb Autditorium and it's quite quiet there as you don't get many people coming through. Handy too for all the lectures, if you're based mainly in Froebel. If you look on the campus map and find Froebel and the Jebb Auditorium (find Froebel and look left, to where there's a playing field), Aspen and Linden are (I think) the two arms of the 'C' shaped building (with Jebb in the middle) and Willow is the separate fourth side, IYSWIM.

I personally think that Aspen and Linden (and Willow) are the nicest accommodation blocks on Froebel, although I believe that Lawrence has been renovated recently. Old and New Court etc are ok, but are catered and are much less modern. The place to avoid really is Mount Clare - it's listed as being part of the Froebel accommodation but it's actually located off campus, at the far end of Danebury Avenue. Some people love it but others really don't (and although they's it's a 'five minute walk' you'd need to be walking quite fast ). I don't think that they put freshers in there anymore though.

Thank you for your opinion . Sounds like they are the ones to go for! From the research I've done online and from you've said, it seems like Aspen and Linden are particularly the same, with the difference being, from what I've seen on the website, that one of them it's 5 people per flat..and the other there's 7...is it better to go for a bigger or smaller group do you reckon?

That's totally up to you I think it's Linden where all the flats are the same size, and Aspen where it's flats of between five ans eight? Chances are you're going to end up in a 'bigger' flat so personally I'd go for either, and not worry too much about it.
