I'll set the scene for you- I study Computer Science.

Someone told me "Yeah, but your're gonna be at a computer for the rest of your life!"
I pointed out that MOST people in MoST jobs are gonna be at a computer for most of their lifes, yet they wont know what the hell it does! (Where as I will know EXACTLY what it does etc...) Plus, I wont necessarily be at a computer all my life... Im drifitng off subject here.

I then told the person (who is doing Chemistry 'just because') that I am doing something I LOVE at university, and that I am pleased that when I get a job, say as a programmer, I will love my job.

So, are YOU doing a subject you LOVE at university?

    Poll to follow.

Yes. Arabic is kinda my hobby too, as I spend my free time learning arabic for fun and am very, very competitive, as it means so much to me.

Yes I am now. I have a degree already and I changed my mind in 3rd year but kept going. I have a year left in Biomedical now cos I love science but I'm a social retard and don't want to deal with people too much. Perfect!

Love's probably a bit strong. I enjoy it a lot, but I'm not particularly enjoying the areas we're looking at, and I probably prefer the linguistics side atm, which isn't an option in your poll (joint degrees)

Woooo! Geography! I love it so much I want to do a PhD in either GIS [basically IT & Computer Science for Geography/Planetary Science] or Biogeography [Spatially applied biology, ecology, etc.]

IMHO don't even bother going to university unless you love, or at least really like, studying a subject.

I wouldn't neccessarily say I love the subjects I'm studying, but I do enjoy what I'm doing. It would be a lot better if I wasn't forced into economics as my outside course though, I wanted to do something fun like most other people I know darn it =P

Sorry, I only had 16 options, and I couldnt think of how to include ALL subjects in that 16... so I put the "other" choice there.

I'm in my third year studying Business and Management (Marketing) and I hate it passionately. Wish I'd gone for an arts degree, like Music.
