Last week I was hopeful that we could cause an upset in the return leg, however with the new injuries to Arsenal's only defensive midfielder in Song and the news that Sol Campbell is a doubt for the game, I'm unsure as to what we will achieve tomorrow.

With our attacking and creative spark gone, we need to score a minimum of two goals. But we'll also need the ball to do that, and to win the ball back. With Silvestre now the most probable candidate to start, I don't know how we'll cope with the pace of Barca's attack.

To beat Barca at their turf is no easy task. To do it with 5 of your first 11 missing is a call for destiny; we either get humiliated tomorrow or we give one of the most memorable performances ever seen in the Champions League.
We could score 1 and go through :p:

Even with our first choice starting 11 it was going to be a very tall order to go to Barca and get a result, but now the task is near impossible.

I agree with you, we will either pull some amazing performance out our asses or we will be completely humiliated. There is no in between IMO.

We are going to win...Barca are also missing Puyol, pique, ibra and iniesta? is he fit? We've done it before in Madrid, Milan and Manchester..history will be created tomorrow..and oh ...cska are going to beat inter in moscow..so we're through to the final .. :woo:

My gut feeling is that, if Barca are as profligate with the ball as they were last week, then you'll nick it. Daft free kick conceded five minutes from time, or just a moment of brilliance from someone, and all the possession in the world'll do them no good.

Wait a sec. Going back to RobbieC's ingenious idea - play Sagna at CB, Eboue can play RB, and Walcott starts.

Wenger had better do that, we can't afford to start Silvestre.

Why don't we just go all out attack on them? It's our best chance and they won't know what hit them. So, starting off with a 3-2-5 formation...

    Almunia

    Sagna
    Vermaelen
    Clichy

    Denilson
    Diaby

    Nasri
    Bendtner
    Walcott
    Rosicky
    Eduardo

...we get the 1 goal to make it 3-2 on aggregate by the 20th minute, then we shift things around, bringing on Campbell, Silvestre and Eboue, and going to a 5-4-1 formation...

    Almunia

    Sagna
    Eboue
    Campbell
    Vermaelen
    Clichy

    Diaby
    Denilson
    Nasri
    Rosicky

    Bendtner

...we hold on for the win. Gonna be ******* brilliant. Wenger and Cesco to walk up and *****slap the **** out of Laporta.

I don't believe Wenger has ever changed a formation in mid-game. Ever.

With the way our chances are shaping up, Toby's idea might just be our only chance.

**** it how about a 3-6-1? Clog the midfield up to interrupt their passing momentum (in theory) lol.

    Or how about a 1-3-6,

    Almunia

    Vermaelen

    Song-Denilson-Diaby

    Walcott-Nasri-Bendtner-Eduardo-Rosicky-Eboue

Is the pitch even wide enough? How about we form a player barrier around the ball? By that I mean Diaby in the middle with the ball and with the rest of the team around him in a circle, holding hands and resisting tackles from the opposition. The ball is carried all the way to the Barca goal and somehow we score. This situation is deluding me.

This isn't WUM, this is reality. :shh:

Your best chance to avoid heavy defeat is to play Silvestre rather than Campbell.
