Well swap Nasri and Rosicky and you're probably right, he might think about starting Walcott, but Theo seems to do best as an impact sub. However, to go to play Barcelona away in the quarters without 5 first team players just might make this too much for us, if we do somehow progress it will be a huge achievement.

PLAY SAGNA AT CENTERBACK! PLEASE LISTEN ARSENE, FFS.

I am not even joking... We won't be contending too much height, and Vermaelen can handle it (plus Sagna is excellent heading for a fullback). Eboue can do it out right... We are desperate for pace more than size... Sagna Sagna centerback!!!!!!!!

It's one of those things I could really see coming off. It seems outwardly unorthodox, but is the optimal solution.

With Ibra not playing, Campbell's inclusion would be almost pointless, unless it was to cause someone physical damage. Even Thierry, who has seriously lost some pace, would comfortably waltz past him. It would give Tomas too much to do.

I absolutely adore Campbell, but save him for Inter. Against Barca, I'd almost prefer Sylvestre playing :facepalm2:

I agree, Campbell would stuggle badly. But would love to see him with his monster tackles on the likes of Messi

I wonder what the mental state of the Arsenal squad will be tomorra, considering that they're well-aware of having very little chance of winning. Will they buckle under the pressure? There's no Gallas/Fabregas to keep the side going either.

Meh. You'll either fall apart completely and get mullered, or perform admirably (like last week)... either way, I expect you to lose.

    Wow, thanks Yawner.

I think there's the third option of surprising everyone by just how well things click. If Wenger gets the tactics and the selection right and every player goes out, and plays with no fear... we would have a solid chance.

I would love to see Sagna play CB but it will never happen, has he even once played CB for us or even at Auxerre?

I am nervous, either way keep the faith its the only way.

Guardiola to manage Arsenal after Wenger? I will hate you if that happens. Jealous, yes. :sigh:

I am not sure if he has or not... but he has the discipline to do it and the physical attributes. He's very smart is Sagna, and he's all we've got as a sensible option now.

    Not obvious, but sensible.

I'm glad some others agree though...

I hope whatever happens, our away lot are as good as they always are. Best travelling fans on Earth.

    Can't you stream it online?

I like the suggestion of Sagna playing at CB. Better than all the other permutations we've been coming up with. I think we're really going to have a good go at them. Maybe knowing that we stand very little chance will mean that we play without the handbrakes on and really put them to the sword. C'mon Arsenal!

He may play a part tomorrow after all.

Andrés Iniesta has received medical clearance and will be among the 19 players in the Barça squad for the game with Arsenal. He was able to train normally at the Camp Nou today.
