Help needed on rhetoric in the owl andthe nightingale watch

    I have to do a presentation regarding this question 'Consider the function of rhetorical register in the owl and the nightingale'
    I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposeto be lookingfor as even though i could talk all day about rhetoric in don't understand what rhetorical register actually is or what I'm suppose to be looking for >

    Well, it's a debate poem, so I'd assume that you're supposed to look at how the two birds make their points, i.e. what language they use etc (for example, the owl gets quite rude at times and resorts to personal attacks, which is something the nightingale also does, but in a different manner) and what effect this actually has on the way their points are presented and the debate is decided.
