So Im doing some volunteering at a museum and I've been told that I have to wear smart casual cloathing. But what does that mean? I've been trying to work out what that entails but haven't been succesful. Any help please.

Girl (It says on profile - little pink thing by name )

I have honestly no idea for girls, for guys I would say trousers, smart shoes and a smart shirt without a tie.

Shirt and jeans would probably be alright. Black jeans if you're not too sure as they can pass for smart trousers if they don't looked closely. Or shirt and skirt, whatever. Shirt is the main thing.

It goes something along the lines of this:

    Casual: Jeans, T-Shirt, Trainers
Smart Casual: Jeans, Shirt (No Tie usually), Trainers or Smartish shoes
Smart: Shirt, Trousers, Tie, Smart shoes
Very Smart: Shirt, Trousers, Tie, Jacket, Wasitcoat, Smart shoes
Ridiculously Smart: Dinner jacket, Bow-tie, Smart shoes

In my previous job, it had a smart casual dress code.. I wore trousers, shirt(top button undone, no tie), plain black v-neck jumper.

No jeans just to be on the safe side.
A nice dress not like a dinner party dress or a clubbing dress which is super fleshy. Wear it with a suit jacket with nice shoes. Simples.

Tuxedo from the waist up, shorts from the waist down.

Don't wear anything too short or anything denim.
How about a nice pair of black trousers (even skinny jeans) with a smart jumper and leather shoes? That's comfortable and smart.

Thank you everyone. I think for the first day I will go with a nice pair of black trousers and top and see what everyone else looks like for the other days.
