Lots of people (especially on here) confess to being in love with a certain girl/guy from their courses or friends of friends, who theyve never actually spoken to, or only once or twice. Surely it can only be lust, love is something much deeper and how is possible to get so worked up about someone you've never really talked to?

P.S. I have been in love so I'm not just assuming.

I don't think that love at first sight necessarily need have anything to do with lust. It is possible to be romantically interested in someone without sex being an issue. Obviously there are going to be people that are sexually attractive, but that you are not romantically attracted to, but it is also possible for the opposite to occur, to be interested in someone for all manner of other reasons, with lust not being there, and in most cases it would be a mixture of both to some extent. I think you can be in love with someone you have never spoken to, without it being lust. If you've ever read Stendhal's Charterhouse of Parma, then you might know what I mean.
