Basically I've had the idea of dentistry in my mind for a few years, as well as other careers in the medicine field.
1 A*, 7A, 2B
Currently in Y12 and doing AS's in:
Chemistry, Biology, Maths and History (Critical Thinking + Gen. Studies too, if they're even worth mentioning)
I'm seriously thinking of dropping maths (I've pretty much failed the first module, seriously doubt if I could get more than a C / D even with a resit). If I did that i'd probably take up another AS next year / out of sixth form or something. Basically I'm wondering if that'd worsen my chances much?
To be honest i'm just feeling huge regret in taking Maths.. whereas I could have taken something different and atleast got a good grade.. + the fact I don't even know if my GCSE's are good enough (Grades other people got on here put mine to shame, really..)

hi, if ur applying for dentistry then you have to be aware that some, not all universities require you to have a B grade in the dropped subject, so if your dropping maths, try and get a B atleast

hey, im in pretty much the same position as you except i do geography instead of maths and i got 1a* 6a's and 3b's, i think they key is getting as much work experience as possible and writing a wicked PS when the time comes

Before you drop maths, i would suggest browsing the university websites to check their admissions criteria. Some unis, like Bristol, only give you an offer based on your 3 A2s. Your GCSEs are fine and shouldn't put you at any disadvantage. Just make sure you get a load of work experience (as varied as possible) and you should have a good chance.
