I love it when people cling onto an IQ test result as some sort of badge of intelligence, "i got 165 but i don't think that revealed my true potential so i did another 20 and got a mean score of 178 with a standard deviation of 5.43." Get out.
    +1 dude.

Well, I'm sure you don't need to be told but if you've got into mensa you're top 2% of the country.

To be honest, a large proportion of TSRers will be in the top 1% (myself included). It only means that you're cleverer than one in every hundred people - not a massive amount.

It's not being arrogant, it's relying on hard statistics.

lol, I will be prefectly honest, I have no idea how I got in...I didn't exactly do amazingly compared to my supposed IQ in GCSE....and loads of people in the year seem smarter than me......although tbh...I'm really not complaining

If you went to university and got at least a 2:1 you'd probably fall in at least the top 40%. But that also depends on what subject you did and where, eg. a 1st in Cambridge Physics is more likely to be in the top decile than a 1st in Greenwich Sociology.

I like how over 50% think they're in the top 10%. :teehee:

I'd say for me, 80-90%. I know I'm much smarter than average, but I'm also smart enough to know I'm probably not in the 10% (I made an irony!).
