    i always sit with friends (apart from when i get in too late to actually get a seat, then i end up on the steps)
    the main reason i go to some lectures is to socialise.

    its how i met a good lump of my friends

    Don't think anything of people sitting on their own though tbh, up to them and if it helps them concentrate then fair enough..
    There isn't room in our lecture theater for people to sit alone. Plus there is a rather large group of us that always sit in the same place so no matter what time I come in I find the closest seat and usually saved for me with my group. lol

    On this course in the archaeologically related ones I sit with my course people but in a huge lecture theatre I like sitting on my own.

    I always sit with friends; I feel more comfortable if i;m with people I know than on my own!
