    Yes, you have to.

    Preferably, you should ask them first whether your offer would still stand, and whether or not it would change if you were to drop a subject. Don't tell them right out that you're dropping it (until you're sure that they're fine with it).

    It has probably only been asked four or five times this month so far. The answer above is correct; if you don't fufil what you declare as your intention in your UCAS application the universities can amend or withdraw any offers, so ask before you do anything irrevocable. Some won't mind, but some will revoke or amend your offer. You also have to notify UCAS.
