mine are **** cos they hurt, and I dont have a rack so anything I squat will come crashing down on me if I fail. with that in mind, max deadlift is about 40kg cos thats the most weights I have and max squat is the heaviest I can get up on my head (ie. max clean I think)

sorry for this, it's probably the worst post Ive posted for a few months

Deadlift 90kg for 5 reps fairly easily when using lifting straps. Could quite easily do more for less reps, but never tried it. Its not that much, but i only weigh 70kgs.

:frown: my original thread title was way cooler

its so cool how in these kinda threads the actual lifts are surrounded by excuses and reasons why theyre not higher, it owns

Im guilty of that :O

mik1w - if you can clean more weight than you can clean+get onto your back, you could do front squats with it..

edit: front squat anyway, most people find them harder than back squat. I find them harder to do the same weight, but much easier to keep form. The weight being further forward means that I can kepe my back more upright, and go deeper

front squat as in have the barbell on your shoulders?
I tried hack squats as well but havent really got the form right as I didn't have enough balance to try a heavy weight

yea - some people do it with it resting on your shoulders, and arms folded, hands on top of the bar: http://davedraper.com/dsquat.jpg

I do them with a clean grip, with alot of the weight on my wrists, sort of like http://www.usawa.com/barnliftkevin.jpg but my hands are lower, and the bar is actually in my grip.

I also found this pic while searching for "front squats" - very odd: http://www.h6.dion.ne.jp/~good-y/album/alseto-1.files/furo.jpg

My best deadlift is 93kg for 10 reps (smith).
My squat best is 85.5kg for 10 reps (smith). I've only done free weight squats 3 times and never with a spotter so I've not maxed out. Today I did 70kg for 10 reps but could have done more
I've been ill recently and my weight's gone down to 69kg. I'm 5'10.5" and ~8/9% bf.

**** a spotter for squats dude - is there a power cage or just an "open" squat rack?
Reply 11
Just an open squat rack. If you go down to parallel or just below and can't get that last rep it could be nasty. You should be able to fall forward and rack it I guess but I haven't taken the chance.

you know what to d0

No idea whatsoever but i suspect it is less than average.

with poor form i could deadlift 180
squats, about 130

Since I've only been lifting for a week, my deadlifts are at 50kg.

My first squats will take place tomorrow.

Can deadlift about 150kg and squat 120kg, not for sets though. I've just started cutting now though so I'm losing quite a bit of strength on both! :frown:

My Max Squat is 190kg and max dead is 210kg.
Reply 17
Thats using proper technique, not some shoddy 3 inch squat which I see people doing in the gym.

ownage - i should give mine in now too: 140/150 dead, 110 squat @ 82bw

Hopefully gonna get double bodyweight deadlift before uni, like 165 - that would r00l
