I just got a rejection from nottingham for their psychology with cognitive neuroscience course, the letter from ucas simply said 'application has been unsuccessful'.
However, on the website it states that the alevel offer is ABB, which i got, and i'm also doing the first year of a psychology degree at glasgow which surely suggests that i'm a good candidate for their course?
Could I appeal against this as I was not given a reasonnn?

Also, I searched on the UCAS website for the course code at the uni and it didnt come up, but its still on the nottingham website..that doesnt make sense..could anyone explain this?!

I'd ring them up and ask if I were you.

I'm pretty sure you can ask for feedback, but chances are, whilst being a good candidate, you just didn't quite fit what they were looking for this year.

Remember you may not have been the best candidate that applied

what doesn't make sense? Universitys don't give offers purely based on grades, your ps and reference play a part. You weren't what they were looking for; they rejected you.

Just ask them why they rejected you. They should give you feedback if you asked for it. It isn't purely down to grades.

All letters from UCAS just tell you that you were successful or unsuccessful. If you want to know why they rejected you, you'll have to speak to the uni.

It's not all down to grades. And actually you find quite often that universities aren't always so keen on people who are already at another university. If you really want feedback then email or phone them, but don't expect them to go back on their decision.
