    Which has the highest boiling point?

    Pentane or Butanol?

    butanol as pentane's a gas at rather low temperatures iirc whereas butanol is around 100 degrees +

    Blablabla the one with the strongest intermolecular forces which in this case would be pentane as it has a longer chain therefore more area that can contribute to dispersion forces also called london forces.

    Although the OH group on butanol forms hydrogen bonds which are the strongest of the 3 intermolecular forces, therefore it has to be Butanol!
