I pick the chocolate off with my fingers and eat it. Then I peel the sponge off and eat it (not my favourite bit though). Then I play with the orange bit - wave it around, show people, stretch it, then eat it.

I eat the edges first, leaving just the jelly bit in the middle. Then I take off the bottom layer of spongy stuff, leaving only the jelly, then I eat the jelly.

urrrrrgh but then you'd have a soggy sponge!
Yeah, and it absorbs all your tea! All things considered it's just not a good idea.

On a side note, this thread's made me hungry!

I like to nibble all the chocolate off, then peel the orange jelly off, eat the sponge and then suck on the orangey goodness :sogood: (I'm disgusting I know...)
Haaaa I used to do that! 'Cept I'd bite off the edges of the sponge first...

Nowadays, I just shove the whole thing in my mouth like a greedy hog.

I nibble around in a circle, around the orange bit. Then I eat the chocolate off the top of the orange bit, scraping it off with my teeth. Then I peel the orange bit off and eat it, then I eat the remaining sponge base.

I eat the bits surrounding the jaffa so I just have a small circle, and then peel the sponge off, and eat the chocolate and jaffa separately
    :mmm:

Does anybody else remember this playground chant you said when you were eating jaffa cakes?

    Here's Maggie Thatcher,
Throw her up and catch her.
    Squish her and squish her
    And throw her away.

Or did I just have a weird socialist childhood...

I bite all the sponge from around the orange bit, peel the orange bit off the rest of the sponge, eat the sponge, pick off as much chocolate as I can and then eat the orange bit
    Mmmm

The only reason I try not to eat Jaffa cakes is calories. ONE cake is at lest 42 cals... so eating 10 jaffa cakes means you've eaten a quarter of your daily recommended cals.

Shove it all in tbh. I don't like the orange bit that much, but when it has the entire cake to compete with, it's not as bad.

    Step one: throw in bin...

(Edit: no, that's wasteful. It's more like, 'step one, give to friend'.)
