    Hello,

Been lifting for about 10 months now. Gained 11.5 kilos.
Thing is I have also visibly gained some belly fat which is starting to look bad.

my program btw is one day off, one day on with 3 different workouts:

    Day1 - Biceps, Chest, Calves
    (Rest)
    Day2 - Back, Shoulders, Abs
    (Rest)
    Day3 - Triceps, Legs, lower back+forearms
    (Rest)

So would it be a good idea to do HIIT once/twice a week on rest days to lose this fat while continuing my lifting?
Im not sure of this coz some peeps say u shouldnt try to cut while bulking up.

and also if i do include HIIT then does my eating have to alter?

    Your opinions please
    Tks

well i'll cheer u up, as im gonna be facing this problem in a while too.

What i would do is continue the lifting 3 times a week, and do like 2 HIIT sessions on ur off days. But what your friends are saying is true.. trying to cut on a bulk.. well thats not gonna happen unless you're diet is spot on, and doing a good enough routine

You're gonna have to choose between a bulk and a cut. So if you want to lose some fat as its getting to you, do what i said above but eat BELOW maintenance. So no bulk. Eat lots of protein, get healthy fats in you and cut down on the carbs.

Carrying on with the weights will minimize any muscle loss, it may even build some (so i've heard) but VERY slowly as you wont be getting enough calories.
