I'm really confused on what to pick, but I have narrowed down my choices to these 6 (the ones in bold are the subjects that I definitely want to do)

    Maths
    Further Maths
    Chemistry
    Physics
    Biology
    English Literature

I'm not sure of what I want to do, in terms of what I’m going to be when I’m older or degrees, but I know that I want to go into science.
    btw, I’m aiming for Cambridge…

Do all 6 for AS and then drop the two you are most bored with after that.

Well it really depends what science you want to go into, to be honest. I'd go for:

    Maths
    Chemistry
    Physics
    English Lit

Lit adds variety to the options and I think Physics is a better choice than Biology. Further Maths could replace Physics, but I think this is a nicer mix

Of course, only do the subjects you want to and that you enjoy!

    EDIT:

A few people advised 5 but if one of them is English Lit then DON'T DO IT. Trust me. Unless you want no social life, that is. I think 5 science subjects are copable with but 5 including Lit will be a nightmare.

    Maths
    Further Maths
    Chemistry
    Physics OR Biology
    English Literature

Done. Biology for if you're thinking of Medicine, Physics if you're interested in that.

I doubt you would need thing called "variety" when you apply for science courses, particularly in Maths.
I would go for Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and maybe AS English Lit if you are interested in it. If you are not very good at maths and want to keep your options open, do Biology instead of Further Maths.
